� Countv Road 11 Corridor Committee <br />February 18, 2011 <br />Members Present: <br />Tim Bray <br />Sandy Peine <br />Tim Houle <br />Mike Loven <br />Rob Hall <br />Kevin Merschman <br />Rick Linnell <br />Nancy Adams <br />This was the initial meeting to discuss the County Road 11 Corridor and was initiated by <br />Crow Wing County. Those entities involved include Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point, and the <br />School District. <br />Tim Bray explained that the County has several concerns with CR 11 including the <br />vicinity of the school; internal transportation needs at Eagle View; bus transportation <br />which could be internal or tied into CR11, Bushman Road, and the Pequot Lakes future <br />bypass. He suggested that prior to the County moving forward on this study, he would <br />like to hear from surrounding jurisdictions as to whether there are other concerns and <br />whether there is any interest in working together on this project. <br />Mayor Adams stated that it is timely to be looking at the future of C.R. 11 as the City of <br />Pequot Lakes is currently considering improvements to Government Drive. <br />Discussion was held regarding the timing of the improvements to Eagle View Parking <br />Lot. Rick Linnell stated that there is money in the project to improve the parking area and <br />storm water ponding at Eagle View. <br />'There was discussion about whether Bushman, Nelson, and Akerson Roads should be <br />included in scope of reviewing C.R. 11. It was suggested that these roads not be included <br />due to the detachment from Breezy to Ideal Township. <br />Other issues that were discussed include the ice arena, Billy's Bar and Restaurant, and <br />future commercial development. There was also discussion about backage roads with the <br />suggestion that a consultant review for traffic design suggestions. It was suggested that <br />road plans be reviewed along with connecting roads and frontage and backage roads. <br />Tim Houle stated that the key issues should include the concepts of planning and zoning, <br />the commercial district, and backage and frontage roads. <br />Rick Linnell stated that the school would like to get an idea of what the County is doing <br />\.. before they begin their project. He indicated that the school could possibly hold off for a <br />
