Wastewater Dept. Continued

II. Operations and Maintenance:
• The monthly MPCA Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) was completed and
submitted.
• Feb 4`, met with Jerry Akerson and explained (in greater detail) the charges for our lift
station alarm units (Omni-Sites) and brought him out to our main lift station for a look.
• Feb 7th, received a call about a sewer backup on the north end of Front Street. Checked
our dead-end manhole and it was frozen. Kurt and I tried thawing it with the Tanker, but
it was frozen solid. Had to call Jeremy Fyle in to steam the lines.
• Feb 14', asked Mike Rude for updated Sanitary Sewer Map and Confined Spaces Map.
Made copies for the Fire Dept.
• Also on the 22"d, I received a ca11 about a sewer backup. I checked our manholes on
Ash Street and two of them were backing up. Jetted from Brown and Ash to dead-end
manhole north of manhole at West Sibley and Ash St. Pulled out a large clump of roots
and pulled back lots of heavy sludge. Sewer main is free flowing again.

Report Submitted By: Tina Nolden (Water/Wastewater Manager)
Please call me if you have any questions/comments.
218-568-5604 or 218-820-2125
