� It is the recommendation of the Committee that the points <br />be derived from 75% of the State's definition of Police <br />Sergeant and 25% of the State's definition of Police <br />Detective which equates to 3 3 9 j ob points with a pay range <br />of $19.22 to $25.22. <br />POLICE CHIEF <br />The Committee then reviewed the job categories provided <br />by the State of Minnesota to find the best match to the <br />City's job description. It was the consensus of the <br />committee that the duties listed under the State's <br />description of Police Lieutenant were the best match to the <br />duties in the City's job description of Police Chief. The <br />Committee recommended that the points for the City's <br />position of Police Chief be derived from 100% of the <br />� State's definition of Police Lieutenant which equates to a <br />total of 410 job points with a pay range of $21.63 to <br />$28.38. <br />Council Action Requested: <br />Council motion approving the following recommendations <br />from the Job Evaluation Committee: <br />Police Ser eg ant: <br />• 339 Job Points <br />• Pay Range - $19.22 - $25.22 <br />Police Chief: <br />• 410 Job Points <br />• Pay Range - $21.63 — 28.38 <br />
