PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2015 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Commissioners Bruch, Nagel, Ettesvold, and Ronning <br /> Members Absent: Chair Malecha, Commissioner Caouette and Nordby <br /> Also Present: Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; and Sandy Peine, City Clerk. <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Vice Chair Ronning called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. <br /> COMMISSIONER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br /> 4-0. <br /> 3. Park Commission Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER NAGEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE APRIL 9, 2015, PARK <br /> COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER BRUCH SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 4. Sibley Lake Park Steps <br /> Mark Jurchen and Mike Ridgley, President of Sibley Lake Association, addressed <br /> the Park Commission. Mark Jurchen explained that Sibley Lake has been placed <br /> on an impaired status because of the water quality. Part of the problem is erosion <br /> and nutrients going into the lake. The Association has suggested removing the <br /> steps at Sibley Lake Park. The Lake Association would like to work with the City <br /> to come up with a project and then research possible grant funding to complete <br /> the project. He suggested that the Public Works employees could put some in <br /> kind money through man hours toward the grant. Mr. Jurchen stated that the <br /> Park Commission needs to develop a plan before the Lake Association could <br /> apply for a grant. He suggested that the plan would be to remove the steps and <br /> re-vegetate the area. <br /> COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE COUNCIL <br /> TO AUTHORIZE THE PARK COMMISSION TO DEVELOP A PLAN TO <br /> REMOVE THE STEPS AT SIBLEY LAKE PARK AND ADDING VEGETATION <br /> AND THEN WORK WITH THE LAKE ASSOCIATION ON POSSIBLE GRANT <br /> APPLICATIONS. COMMISSIONER BRUCH SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 5. Dog Park —Amenities Update <br />
