MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> JANUARY 15, 2004 <br /> PRESENT: Bill Habein, Marty Nelson, Joe Dotty, Karl Moon and Mark Hallan. <br /> ABSENT: Tom Woog and John Derksen. <br /> PLANNING ADMINISTRATOR: Charles Marohn, PE. <br /> ZONING ADMINISTRATOR: Dawn Bittner. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Karl Moon, Vice-Chair. <br /> APPLICANT: Karen Ettesvold <br /> Applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit for a Home Occupation Permit to <br /> operate a beauty salon. <br /> Applicant was present: Karen Ettesvold, 4178 West Sibley Street, Pequot Lakes. <br /> Mr. Marohn explained his Staff Report. There were no public comments from the <br /> audience. Staff had received a letter which was read into the Minutes: I'm not at <br /> all opposed to the conditional use permit for Karen Ettesvold and Wayne Phipps, <br /> as long as they have on site parking, not on the street. If such is the case, I'm <br /> opposed. <br /> Applicant asked for clarification for her home occupation sign. She was told the <br /> sign could not exceed 12 sq. ft. <br /> 6:42 JOHN DERKSEN ARRIVED. <br /> A motion was made by Bill Habein, seconded by Joe Dotty, to recommend <br /> approval of the Conditional Use Permit, subject to the following conditions: <br /> 1. Hours of operation in a residential neighborhood shall be limited to the <br /> hours between 7 AM and 10 PM in accordance with the Ordinance. <br /> 2. On-site parking shall be limited to the existing driveway. <br /> 3. The owner of the studio shall be a full-time occupant of the dwelling and <br /> the primary use of the property shall remain residential until such time that <br /> the zoning classification of the property changes, at which time the <br /> conditional use permit could be re-evaluated. <br /> 4. Signage shall be consistent with the Ordinance provisions for residential <br /> areas. <br /> 5. The operation of the conditional use shall be reviewed in 12 months at <br /> which time conditions may be modified, added, or removed to address <br /> specific concerns. <br /> Planning Commission 1 <br /> January 15,2004 <br />
