City of Pequot Lakes January 21, 2003
PO Box 361
Pequot Lakes, MN 56472
Attn: Charles Marohn, P.E.
Planning & Zoning Administrator
Re: Your letters of December 9, 2002 and December 31, 2002.
Dear Mr. Marohn,
Thank you for your letter of December 31, following is my attempt to answer the items in your
letter.
The work that has been done to my cabin is as follows. The dates are: start approximately
October 10-15, 2002, finish approximately December 15, 2002.(Varnishing of inside floor done
later.)
1. Replace roofing over % of one bedroom and over bathroom area to match the existing
roofing.
2. Replace one bathroom window. Close up second bathroom window. This required new
outside siding in spots on two sides of existing bathroom.
3. Put roof over an existing foundation. This is an area 10' x 12'. The foundation was
installed in the fall of 1999. This area underground contains water line from new well
installed in October of 1999, sewer pipe, natural gas line, and water heater. The
foundation was part of the originally approved permit for an addition to the cabin. Due to
the financial issues the addition was not completed and a new permit was applied for and
denied. We had no other choice but to cap the foundation due to the hazard it presents.
4. Remodel bathroom.
5. Remodel kitchen. New kitchen outside door.
6. New ceiling in the two bedrooms.
7. New electrical circuits inside.
8. Remove carpeting in living room, sand and varnish floor.
None of the outside walls were moved or changed location. The only outside work was:
• Replace roofing
• Replace existing siding when new window was installed and one window covered over.
• Install 10' x 12' roof (cap) over existing foundation.
