MOTION BY T. SACCOMAN AND SECONDED BY J. THOMPSON TO
SET THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING ON TUESDAY,
OCTOBER 4, 1999 AT 6:30 p.m. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
FRONTAGE ROAD, INFORMATION FROM J. THOMPSON AND
M. PEISCH.
M. Peisch explained the plans that Gayleen Royce had for a frontage road
and a stoplight. It was also mentioned that the Department of Transportation
encourages frontage roads to eliminate hundreds of driveways and will fund
these roads providing enough driveways are closed off.
The Department of Transportation and the city engineer were discussing that
it could be pursued, however, for the DOT to fund the road they would insist
that the frontage road have an access directly across from Morehouse Drive.
This would require Ms. Royce to close off her access on Pillsbury Street.
F. Martinson voiced concern about a part of Mr. Babinski's property being on
a Minnesota Power Right of Way. He also stated that he was sure that you
couldn't build on a utility right of way.
NEW BUSINESS
T. Saccoman mentioned she had attended a tree seminar and there is a grant
available for trees for the City and in the Industrial Park. The application will
need to be filled out by November 1, 1999. She asked that a tree board
meeting be scheduled.
NOTICES AND COMMUNICATION
A subscription to the Building Permit Law Bulletin was offered to the
Commission. T. Saccoman suggested that she would be glad to look the
company up on the Internet to see what information was available.
