PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 17, 2000 <br /> The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Planning & Zoning <br /> Commission was called to order by Chairman F. Martinson at 6:30 p.m. in the <br /> Council Chambers of Pequot Lakes City Hall. Present was F. Martinson, T. <br /> Saccoman, J. Thompson, C. Clarke and G. Welu. <br /> MOTION BY T. SACCOMAN AND SECONDED BY J. THOMPSON <br /> THAT THE MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 15, 2000 MEETING BE <br /> APPROVED. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> FRONTAGE/BACKAGE ROADS <br /> The purpose of this discussion was for the possibilities for frontage/backage <br /> roads along Highway# 371. <br /> �-- Attending the meeting was Terry Nichols, District State Aid Assistant from <br /> the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Tim Houle, City Engineer from <br /> Widseth, Smith &Nolting and resident & business owners that could be <br /> effected by the roads. <br /> Mr. Houle started off the meeting by giving a recap of the previous meetings. <br /> There was discussion regarding the location of the roads, where the road <br /> accesses would be and which homes and businesses could be effected. <br /> Teresa Ryan, owner of the Oasis Sports Shop voiced concern about where <br /> the access road would be located regarding her business. She also stated that <br /> she was in the process of constructing a new building and was worried of <br /> what effect this would have on her new business. <br /> Mr. Nichols explained that the plans for the 4-lane highway are at least 6 to <br /> 10 years away. There was discussion regarding the funding of the roads and <br /> what MNDOT's responsibility would be. <br />
