SIBLEY TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION HEARINGS <br /> JULY 18,2001 <br /> SIBLEY TOWNSHIP HALL <br /> PRESENT:Martin Nelson,Gary Gunderson,Karl Moon,Craig Nagel,Barb Sjoblad,Mark Hallen, <br /> Mary Pfeiffer,Dennis Slayton(Zoning Administrator)Cathy Malecha(Clerk) <br /> Hearing called to order at 6:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance by Chairperson Craig Nagel <br /> Charles Peterson: <br /> Rezone property from Forestry to Rural Residential and Commercial. Commercial along 371 Corridor to <br /> end of property. Remainder of property east of Hurtig Road(not commercial)to be zoned Rural <br /> Residential. <br /> Charles Peterson present. <br /> Staff notes given by Dennis Slayton(Zoning Administrator)copy included. <br /> No presentation by Mr.Peterson,agreed with presentation given by Zoning Administrator. <br /> Condition:Mr.Peterson must have an accurate plan with proposed changes in zoning and Rural Residential <br /> part of pracel accurately shown in division of land(Mr.Peterson is dividing the land into 5 acre parcels). <br /> This plan must be given to Sibley Township before final approval is given by the Sibley Township Board <br /> of Supervisors. <br /> Gary Peterson:3712 Lincoln St.N.E.Columbia Heights,Minnesota 55421 <br /> Inquired as to the zoning of the Tasty Pizza North building which joins the Peterson property,the Board <br /> assured Mr.Gary Peterson that parcel is Commercial. <br /> Karl Moon made a motion to recommend to the Sibley Township Board of Supervisors to accept the <br /> application of Charles Peterson as presented with condition to give Sibley Township accurate plan of <br /> proposed division of said'land. Motion seconded by Barb Sjoblad,Discussionllowed,all ayes,motion <br /> carried. <br /> Dan Couture <br /> To allow a setback of 10 ft instead of the required 35 ft from a road right of way. <br /> Dan Couture present: <br /> Staff notes given by Dennis Slayton(Zoning Administrator)copy included. <br /> Petition by neighbors read into hearing proceedings. Neighbors felt Mr.Couture's project would be an <br /> asset to the neighborhood(copy included) <br /> Gary Peterson,3712 Lincoln St.N.E.Columbia Heights,Minnesota 55421 (Developer of sub-division in <br /> which Mr.Couture resides)stated that he plans to straighten out the road which Mr.Couture uses to access <br /> his property. <br /> Karl Moon made a motion to recommend to the Sibley Township Board of Supervisors to accept the <br /> application of Mr.Couture with the following conditions: <br /> 1. Garage to be the same siding and color as the house <br /> 2. Plant a buffer of trees between the garage and the ROW and the south property line. Plan to <br /> be approved and on file with the Zoning Office. <br /> 3. Garage must be single story with no habitation <br /> Motion seconded by Mark Haller, Discussion followed,all ayes,motion carried. <br /> Dock Ordinance <br /> Sibley Township had a request from the Sibley Lake Association to adopt the same Dock Ordinance that <br /> the City of Pequot Lakes has on record. Reason:one third of Sibley Lake likes in the boundaries of the <br /> City of Pequot Lakes,and two-thirds lies in Sibley Township. By adopting the same Ordinance it would <br /> give the residents who reside on Sibley Lake continuity on a Dock Ordinance. <br /> `-' Discussion on the interpretation of slips,using the word mooring instead of slip,Ron Stenstrom questioed <br /> the term railing(which is prohibited in the Pequot Lake version of the Ordinance).
