APPLICANT:Cathy and Al Malecha
County Rd 112
Pequot Lakes,Mn 56472
To sub-divide 10 acre parcel into two 5 acre parcels by Metes and Bounds Subdivision
Karl Moon made a motion to grant the application
Cheri Seils seconded the motion, all ayes, motion carried.
REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
MAY 16,2002
Chuck Morahn stated that any correspondence he may sent out or E-Mails he would like the
commission to feel free to comment.
Mark Haiku gave a brief statement concerning bringing water to the new school site via County
Road#11. The piping would be in the County ROW therefore Sibley Township cannot say no to the
extension of services via this means. Mark stated that extending water supply to the new school
would not pose future development as much as extending both sewer and water to the new facility.
Mr.Andolsheck from Café Latte would like to use the planters in front of his establishment for
tables and chairs for customer seating in the summer season. Chuck felt this was in keeping with his
business of a coffee shop. He asked the opinion of the Commission.
The question next asked was should a church activity center be in a residential zone. Discussion felt
that this was an extension of the church and could be in a residential area.
Next item for discussion was a foundation definition. An applicant to the City wanted to put a home
on a slab instead of frost footings. The State Building Code allows Slab on Grade provided it is
designed by an engineer. After discussion it was suggested that following the State Building Code
would be sufficient provided it was designed by an engineer.
Craig stated that we need additional time to do more planning instead of just hearings. The planning
process is important to the hearing agenda.
Dennis stated that Chuck and him would discuss a time frame and get an outline to us in order to
proceed with the planning process.
Karl Moon made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 P.M.
Motion seconded by Mark Hallen, all ayes, motion arrived.
RespeStfutty submitted,
c ;' f
Cathy Malecha
Clerk,Sibley Township
