Transportation Plan: Continue to work with MnDOT people <br /> regarding the public meetings. Meet with City Staff. Evaluate <br /> impacts of either bypass or through town option. Discuss <br /> backage/linkage roads, the City's liability for their costs and other <br /> means of transportation. The School District plan should be <br /> investigated, such as bussing and the school/senior van. Shoulder <br /> paving of County Roads 16 and 11. Create a plan/conduit for <br /> extending services such as gas, cable, internet and phone. <br /> d. Infrastructure Plan: Create of Municipal Utility Service Area <br /> (MUSA) with City Staff. Evaluate storm sewer issues, ISTS's and <br /> Wellhead Protection Area. <br /> e. Natural Resources Plan: Many resource maps available to be <br /> included. Tax forfeit land available. County Park Director eager to <br /> help with park/trail expansion. MPCA should have Dump info to the <br /> City soon. What must we regulate? <br /> f. Recreation Plan: Identify existing resources and regional park <br /> strategy. Hunting needs to be added, as well as a Firearms Zone <br /> Map, activities at school, a community center (pool) and seasonal <br /> activities. <br /> g. Community Character Plan: Sibley Township's charrette and comp <br /> plan to be utilized, as well as MnDOT information. Quality of life is <br /> a key element and churches need to be added. <br /> Beth Elliot of Community Growth Consultants presented information she had <br /> obtained on housing in Pequot Lakes. There are many rental units available, <br /> approximately half are in large, high density buildings. Affordable housing for <br /> young people and seniors is available.
