Economic Development Commission Minutes
May 18, 2010
The City changed the ordinance regarding lot sizes in the Business Park and no one has
split their lot. This could be due to economy. We should make an inventory list of the
lots that could be split.
We should explore where the next wave is coming from, where we should look to induce
jobs or industries in the future. Traditional uses for an Industrial Park do not exist now.
FINANCIAL INCENTIVES:
Page 19: Tommy explained that this is a new section trying to lay out some guidelines.
The EDC stated that this information is usually included in a Business Subsidy policy and
not in a comp plan. The EDC will
develop a new Business Subsidy policy for the Council to adopt which will take several
months to complete.
Page 13, line 4, delete sentence "It now appears that..."
Page 13, line 17, Aging Population: paragraph sounds negative.
