� <br />� <br />City Council Minutes <br />January 18, 2011 <br />Page 4 of 10 <br />County Sheriff's Office is also available to other communities but does not <br />feel they would give the personal touch. <br />Dale Daudt — Council Member for Jenkins — Mr. Daudt stated that the <br />community is supportive of the decision to bring the Pequot Lakes Police <br />to the area. <br />Greq Seils — 29299 St. Hiqhwav 371 - Mr. Seils stated that everything <br />seems to be going smooth. He further stated that he sees more presence <br />of highway patrol. <br />Chris Melberq — Pine River — Mr. Melberg stated that he has been with <br />the Police Department for several years and has seen the City of Pequot <br />Lakes benefit from the level of patrol that has been done. <br />Scott Pederson — Mr. Pederson stated that good public relations would <br />be a good thing with more visibility and would like to see the officers build <br />relationships with the community. <br />Bill Savaqe — Pequot Lakes — Mr. Savage suggested that the Police <br />Department host a pancake breakfast similar to the Fire Department. <br />Jon Lubke — Mavor of Jenkins — Mr. Lubke stated that the local mayors <br />meet once a month and suggested that the chiefs meet on a regular basis. <br />Grea Seils — Mr. Seils stated that there are some perceived problems that <br />need to be addressed such as starting to work with other police <br />departments. He stated that there seems to be tension between other <br />departments. Mayor Adams responded that the tension seems to be gone <br />at this time. <br />Council Member Ryan stated that the tension has not gone away. Council <br />Member Sjoblad stated that he has talked to the surrounding Chiefs and <br />Sheriff and has been told that the communication channels are opening up <br />and all departments seem to be working together. <br />Mike Davis — 3733 C.R. 17 — Mr. Davis indicated that things are changing <br />between the County and Pequot Lakes due to a big problem that has gone <br />away and the tension relating to that problem has followed. <br />Council Member Ryan — Would like to have a better understanding of what <br />the officers are faced with on a day to day basis. Council Member Ryan <br />stated that he would like to know what is the best model or fit for a police <br />� department for Pequot Lakes. <br />
