� <br />City Council Minutes <br />June 4, 2013 <br />Page 3 of 7 <br />Council Member Pederson stated he was hoping for a longer phase-in <br />period. Discussion was held regarding the public hearing process. The <br />Council noted that if needed, they could reconsider the length of time <br />following input by the public. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVE TO CALL A SPECIAL COUNCIL <br />MEETING ON JULY 23, AT 6:30 PM TO HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON <br />THE URBAN RURAL TAXING DISTRICTS. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />6.1 Planning Commission Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />6.2. CSAH 11 Memo to Crow Wing County Hiqhway Department <br />Justin Burslie, Planning Commission consultant from Community Growth, <br />explained that the Council had directed the Planning Commission to <br />analyze the CSAH 11 corridor and the other gateway entrances to the <br />� City. Justin noted that the Planning Commission has met several times to <br />complete the task and has drafted a memorandum to the Crow Wing <br />County Highway Department offering design suggestions for the gateways <br />to the City. Justin reviewed the points listed in the memorandum. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO SEND THE <br />MEMORANDUM TO THE CROW WING COUNTY HIGHWAY <br />DEPARTMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. <br />Cheri Seils, Planning Commission Chair, noted that the Planning <br />Commission has studied the subject for a period of time and is <br />comfortable with the recommendations offered in the memorandum. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />7. Fire <br />Fire reports received by Council. <br />8.1. Accept Letter of Resiqnation — John Ryan <br />� <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT JOHN RYAN'S <br />LETTER OF RESIGNATION EFFECTIVE AUGUST 29, 2013. COUNCIL <br />
