� <br />City Council Minutes <br />May 7, 2013 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 13- <br />12 AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THE TRAILSIDE PARK <br />PROPERTY IN THE CENTER OF TOWN FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />NATURAL RESOURCES. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />7. Fire <br />Fire reports received by Council. <br />8. Police <br />Nothing to report. <br />9.1. Sidewalk Improvements <br />Tim Houle informed the Council that Mike is working on several sidewalk <br />improvements in the City including the sidewalks at City Hall, the Post <br />Office, and Second Street behind SuperAmerica next to TDS. <br />The Mayor asked whether adding a sidewalk on the south side of C.R. 11 <br />` is in the plan. Mike Loven noted that a sidewalk in that location would <br />involve the DNR, MnDOT and the County. He suggested that the City wait <br />on doing that sidewalk. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SIDWALK PROJECTS. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4- <br />0. <br />Tim Houle noted that bids will close on May 30t" at 10 a.m. and be <br />presented to the Council in June. <br />9.2. City Enqineer Report - Verbal <br />Tim Houle informed the Council that there are a few items to take care of <br />on the Government Drive project and that the project will close very soon. <br />Tim Houle noted that he did not have a Washington Street design <br />proposal at this time. Council Member Sjoblad stated that he has an issue <br />with the parking as proposed. He noted that the parking is currently <br />insufficient at the area of the restaurant and the shoe store. He noted that <br />he does not believe the street should be designed to be pretty but be <br />designed to be more utilitarian. Council Member Akerson and Council <br />� Member Gardner concurred that there is a need for more parking in the <br />area. <br />
