Agreement <br />City of Pequot Lakes <br />Page 2 <br />North Washington Avenue <br />As mentioned in our original Engineering Agreement, It is important to note that as with <br />any construction, there may need to be modifications made to the quantities in the field. <br />As such, we recommend the City set aside a contingency fund in the amount of about <br />10% of the contractor's bid. <br />• Answer questions from bidders. <br />• Compute points and provide construction staking of retaining wall improvements. <br />• Administer construction (anticipated maximum two month long construction period) — <br />conforming executed Contract Documents, conducting the pre-construction meeting, and <br />reviewing shop drawings being three items of work under this task. <br />• Observe construction. We anticipate about a two month long construction period. During this <br />period, we are estimating 50 hours a week for 4 weeks and about 20 hours a week for the <br />other 4 weeks. <br />Please remember that observation time is very dependent on the selected Contractor's <br />means, methods, techniques, and sequences of construction; and can also be impacted <br />by weather and other forces under no one's control. <br />We propose to pertorm the above tasks on an hourly basis, in accordance with the attached fee <br />schedule, for an estimated amount of $40,500. <br />We will stay in touch with staff and the Council on our services so that everyone is aware of any <br />needed adjustments. <br />If you are in agreement with our proposed scope of services, please sign on the following page <br />and return one copy of this letter for our records.
