371 Pit Site Plan <br /> Acreage owned: 174.69 <br /> Acreage applying for: 38.4 <br /> Presently being used as: <br /> Area has been clear cut approximately 3 years ago, some natural regrowth is <br /> occurring along with some small area of Norway Pines that were not cut. <br /> Topographic Map: <br /> Approximately 1/4 of proposed site is very rough terrain. The remainder of <br /> proposed site is fairly flat shown on Contour Maps. <br /> Adjacent Land Use: <br /> North: Wooded <br /> East: Wooded and 371 <br /> South: Wooded and Field <br /> West: Wooded and Hurtig Road some residents <br /> Water: <br /> Closest water would be Mayo Lake in which we have established 1000' plus <br /> setback. From borings we have found ground water at 34'. <br /> Mining Plan: <br /> The area to be mined would be bermed by using whatever topsoil can be salvaged <br /> around perimeter of site. Leaving 100' setback from any property line. Berms would be <br /> seeded. After berms are established, clear and grub would take place on E 1/4 at of area <br /> Phase 1. Actual excavation would start in lowest spot on east end of proposed site going <br /> to depth of 32' leaving minimum of 2' material to water table. Stockpiling to the west. <br /> Then once NE corner is worked out,the ponds would be built for wash ponds. <br /> This 1"Phase will not be any longer than 7 acres of open working gravel bank area of 15 <br /> acres for stockpiles and plant site. <br /> Between crushing sets, we would have interm restoration banks would be sloped to 3 to 1. <br /> Haul Road: <br /> The only haul road in and out of this property would be to Hwy 371, 30' wide with <br /> ditch minimum. We will work with MNDOT for turn lane and passing lane for entrance. <br /> Final Restoration: <br /> All areas that have been disturbed will have topsoil put back on them and the banks <br /> will be sloped to 3 to 1 or better. Original topsoil berms would be used back into restoration <br /> and entire area would be seeded. Area could be used for farming or residential when <br /> completed. <br /> Fencing would be done as per ordinances. Gate would be put on entrance. <br /> For phasing and topo maps along with property line set backs, look at attached maps. <br />
