Box 385 <br /> Nisswa, MN 56468 <br /> Re: Preliminary Plat of Island Vista <br /> City of Pequot Lakes <br /> Dear Mr.Hemmerich, <br /> As you may already be aware, Y our application was tabled by the City of Pe q not Lakes Plannin g <br /> Commission at the public hearing held on July 21,2005. <br /> Concern was raised about the capability of North Sluetter Road to handle additional residential traffic in <br /> its current state. The Planning Commission is requesting that the City Council take this opportunity, with <br /> the developer being willing to contribute, to undertake an improvement project along this roadway. The <br /> next City Council meeting is Tuesday, August 2 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. We will forward the Planning <br /> Commission's recommendation to them at that time. Should you choose not to attend the Council <br /> meeting,we will inform you of the Council's decision, if any,on the road improvement. <br /> The public hearing for your application will be continued at the next Planning Commission meeting on <br /> Thursday, August 25, 2005. The meeting will be held at City Hall and will start at 6:30 p.m. Your <br /> application is the third public hearing on the agenda. <br /> For your information, should the Planning Commission choose to approve your application when it is <br /> reviewed again, we are recommending that the Commission give consideration to the following <br /> conditions to be included with approval of your application: <br /> 1. The additional 33 feet of right-of-way to the west shall be acquired from the State of Minnesota. <br /> 2. The existing outhouse on Lot 3 and the cabin on Lot 4 shall be removed. The existing driveway to <br /> these structures shall be abandoned. <br /> 3.
