HEMMERICK SUBDIVISION: <br /> Mr. Marohn deferred to Steve Qualley, attorney representing Earl Hemmerick. Mr. <br /> Qualley explained why Mr. Hemmerick was requesting the City to apply for the easement <br /> on State Trust Fund Land. Securing the easement would take the"if'out of the platting <br /> process. <br /> The Planning Commission stated they are not waiving any decision making process by <br /> recommending the easement. <br /> A motion was made by Bill Habein, seconded by John Derksen, to recommend the City <br /> make application for this easement. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PLAN—Phil Schott <br /> Staff explained that Mr. Schott is building an office building and would like to have a 2' <br /> X 3' sign at each of the four entrances and one freestanding sign with four 2' X 3' signs. <br /> The Planning Commission questioned the proposed height and that had not been included <br /> in the application. <br /> A motion was made by Mark Hallan, seconded by Roger Varilek,to approve the <br /> comprehensive sign plan, with the following condition: <br /> 1. The maximum height of the freestanding sign is ten feet from surrounding grade. <br /> All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> PERMIT EXTENSION—Dale Kroells <br /> Staff explained that Mr. Kroells' Land Use Permit expired September 30, 2004. Mr. <br /> Kroells had not responded to correspondence from Staff. He now is making application <br /> for an extension until July, 2006, with removal of the existing cabin August, 2006. <br /> A motion was made by Mark Hallan, seconded by Scott Pederson,to deny the extension <br /> request. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> The Planning Commission continued discussion of a reasonable completion timetable. <br /> They recommended the exterior of the new structure be completed by September 30, <br /> 2005, and the existing cabin be removed by August 31,2005 with the ground stabilized <br /> by September 15, 2005.
