AGENDA ITEM # 9.6. <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Date: August 3, 2004 <br /> Subject: Request to Hire New Employee <br /> Report: Because Nancy Caputa is leaving, I would like to take this <br /> opportunity to recommend a reorganization of the employee structure at City <br /> Hall. Here is my proposal. <br /> 1. Move Nancy R. to the Clerk's Office full time. Give her the title of <br /> Deputy City Clerk with a raise in wage from $13.70 per hour to $14.70 per <br /> hour. —Main duties include accounting, payroll, and water billing <br /> 2. Hire a full time Clerk/Receptionist at $11:00 per hour. This person <br /> will be shared by the police department, the planning department and the <br /> clerk's office. The split would be 20 hours per week for the Police, 15 hours <br /> per week for the clerk and 5 hours per week for Planning and Zoning. Main <br /> duties include: <br /> Police - word processing, transcriptions, receptionist (public and phones) <br /> general office organization <br /> Planning and Zoning— Back up for P&Z, run packets, filing, deliver packets, <br /> general office organization <br /> Clerk's Office —Mail, receptionist (public and phones), filing, and general <br /> office organization <br /> Council Action Requested: Council motion authorizing moving Nancy R. <br /> to Clerk's Office full time with a title change and pay change effective <br />
