MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING COMMISSION/ <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> April i8, 20�9 <br /> PRESENT: Andrew Birch, Mark Hallan, Laura Larson, Nathan Norton, Tom Paulbeck, <br /> Christopher Savino, and Wesley Wilson. ABSENT: None. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Justin Burslie, Sourcewell <br /> ZONING SPECIALIST: Dawn Bittner <br /> COUNCIL LIAISON: Mayor Tayloe <br /> The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chair Birch at 6:0o PM. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br /> APPLICANI': Babinski Foundation <br /> Applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit to operate Boat Sales, Service, <br /> Retail Pro Shop, and Boat Storage <br /> Mr. Burslie explained the Staff Report. The applicant was represented by John Babinski <br /> and Bob Erickson. Mr. Burslie presented the Findings of Fact and Conditions in the <br /> Staff Report. He also stated the Fire Chief has requested a Condition requiring the <br /> applicant provide a fire alarm system satisfactory to the Pequot Lakes Fire Chie£ When <br /> applicant was asked if they had anything to add, applicant turned the meeting over to <br /> their tenant, MN Inboard. <br /> Mike Achterkirch, General Manager of MN Inboard, 37i69 Lake Country Drive, <br /> Crosslake, and Matt Muller, Owner of MN Inboard, a family business for 2�years and <br /> have been in Baxter since 2006. They need more space and this property in Pequot <br /> Lakes is a great opportunity. <br /> Planning Commission Member Wilson asked if it would be wise to put a sprinkling <br /> system in the maintenance building due to the nature of the work. Mr.Achterkirch <br /> explained they do not have a sprinkling system in the Baxter location. They have fire <br /> extinguishers throughout their facility. Mr. Mueller stated they have a 32, o0o square <br /> foot service facility west of their Twin Cities location and doesn't believe that location is <br /> sprinkled. They have been in that location since 2002 and have never had an issue. <br /> Most of the work they do is fuel injected, not carbureted; carbureted may experience <br /> more flame up. <br /> MINUTES i <br /> Pequot Lakes Planning Commission <br /> April i8, 2019 <br />
