Senator Ruud was chosen for this recognition <br /> because of her work on environmental issues that give <br /> cities the resources necessary to protect Minnesota's <br /> environment, for her authorship on storm water reuse <br /> provisions, and for legislation assuring cities that once they <br /> invest in improvements to wastewater treatment facilities, <br /> in order to meet environmental standards, they will not <br /> need to reinvest in improvements until a reasonable portion <br /> of the previous investment has been paid off. <br /> The City of Pequot Lakes congratulates Senator Carrie <br /> Ruud on her Legislator of Distinction award, we commend <br /> her for her support of city-friendly legislation to strengthen <br />
