PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING & ZONING <br /> REGULAR MEETING, DECEMBER 15, 1998 <br /> The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Planning &Zoning Commission was called to <br /> order by Chairman F. Martinson at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 1998 in the Council <br /> Chambers of Pequot Lakes City Hall. Present were G. Jenson, G. Welu, J. Thompson, T. <br /> Saccoman and F. Martinson. Absent: none. <br /> It was moved by J. Thompson and seconded by T. Saccoman that the minutes of the <br /> November 17, 1998 meeting be approved as presented. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING FOR ZONING CHANGE ON BABINSKI PROPERTY <br /> The Public Hearing was called to order by Chairman F. Martinson. The purpose of the <br /> Public Hearing was to consider amending the official Zoning Map to indicate a portion of <br /> the Babinski/American Enterprises property located immediately south of the Janices Pines <br /> Apartments property changed from Light Industrial to Multi-Family Residential. No <br /> opposition was reported by Staff. <br /> T. Saccoman voiced concern for the trees located between the apartment building and the <br /> Industrial Site. F. Martinson had had the opportunity to speak with Babinski about the <br /> trees, and he does intend to leave them there. <br /> `,. It was moved by J. Thompson and seconded by T. Saccoman that the Zoning amendment <br /> be approved subject to the following conditions: <br /> 1. that all trees on the property remain undisturbed <br /> 2. that a 50 ft. buffer be maintained between the apartment building and the <br /> Industrial Site. <br /> Motion Carried Unanimously. The Chairman then closed the Public Hearing. <br /> OFF-SITE SIGNS <br /> There was discussion about highway signage for the Industrial Park properties. <br /> It was moved by G. Welu and seconded by G. Jenson that Ordinance#163, Section 7.50: <br /> OFF-SITE SIGNS be amended to read: Off site signs may be allowed with specific approval <br /> of the Planning & Zoning Commission following proper public notice and publication. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> LAND USE ORDINANCE <br /> No official action taken. <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> The existing Comprehensive plans will be sent to David Licht of Northwest Associated <br /> Consultants. He will be asked to review them and make a proposal based on the <br /> Commission's financial constraints. <br /> 1 <br />
