STAFF REPORT Application: Ordinance Amendment to Modify Side Yard Setbacks in the Light Industrial District Applicant: City of Pequot Lakes Agenda Item:3(d) Background: The Light Industrial district allows for a parking lot setback of 10 feet, but driveways must be setback at least the minimum side yard setback, which is 30 feet. The Commission felt that this was not consistent with the 10-foot parking setback and requested that an amendment to add "driveways" to the parking lot setback for the industrial district, giving flexibility to the layout and design of structures and associated accesses and parking within the district. Proposed Ordinance: The Staff proposes the following Ordinance amendment to allow setbacks to be set as close as 10 feet to the side yard property line,like parking: Section 5.13, Subdivision 3 on Lot, Use, and Density Requirements for the Light Industrial district: Setback,parking and driveways from lot line—feet,minimum................10 City of Pequot Lakes Staff Report 4-1 November 15,2007
