OMMUNITY TRo TH I N S T I T U T E j es= City-f Eciaerts in Small Taws Plc�rtniag Pe not _ STAFF REPORT I _ Application: Comprehensive Plan Schedule Agenda Item:6(b) Background Information and Discussion: We are scheduled to update the Comprehensive Plan in the upcoming year. This should not be as large or as complicated an undertaking as our last update, where we were blending urban Pequot Lakes with rural Sibley Township (and combining two councils in the process). We envision this update as an opportunity to elaborate on issues given a more cursory treatment in the prior update, incorporate planning that has taken place over the past five years (Downtown plan, East Twin Lake plan, TH 871 plan, business inventory, etc...), update implementation strategies and address any outstanding issues City Council and Planning Commission members may have. We feel it is important to have good public input into the process and would propose a series of workshops(all-day clinics where people can come and go on their schedule) and a survey. To keep the process moving,we would propose that topics be incorporated into Planning Commission agendas or a regular monthly special meeting be scheduled (like the TH 371 Study Group). We are proposing the following timeline,which we welcome feedback and guidance from the Planning Commission.
