Property owners: James Sherwood and Curtis Lindel,Parcel
#290221400A00009; Keith Anderson,Parcel#290224100A00009; Sharon Krieger,
Parcel#2902241001100009; Francis Razidlo,Parcel#290224100000009; Lloyd
Wass, Parcel#290224100DA0889; Minnesota DNR, Parcel#290224100DB0009;
Gregory Seils,Parcel#290224100FA0889; and Edward Larsen,Parcel
#2902243041100009.
Mr. Adams explained that this public hearing is a continuation from last month. He
explained that the Shoreline Residential area needed to be increased due to existing
residences. Mr. Larsen arrived at 6:37 p.m. Parcel Number 29022140OA00009 will be
removed from this public hearing as it was not correctly noticed. The Staff Report
recommends that the properties be rezoned to Commercial through an area that extends
600 feet from the easterly property boundary with State Highway 371,with the remainder
being zoned Shoreline Residential. The Planning Commission discussed the proposed
backage road could be a natural break, but the location could vary when constructed. The
issue of zoning along the backage road can be re-visited when it is constructed.
A motion was made by Scott Pederson, seconded by Roger Varilek,to recommend that
the City Council rezone these parcels, minus Parcel Number 290221400A00009,
consistent with the map on page 1-5 of the Staff Report, based on the following Findings
of Fact:
1. The proposed rezoning to Shoreline Residential would be consistent with the
City's Comprehensive Plan as the properties are adjacent to shoreline and some of
... them are residential in character.
Planning Commission Minutes 1
November 16, 2006
