Ci ty of <br />Pequot <br />Lakes - <br />AGENDA ITEM #3.9 <br />REPORT TO <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Report Prepared by: Nancy Adams, Mayor <br />Date: July 2, 2013 <br />Subiect: Library to Donate Books to Friends of Library <br />Report: The Library has a yearly book sale, funds of <br />which go toward the operation of the Library. Over the past <br />several years, at the suggestion of the Auditor, operation of <br />this book sale has been by the Friends of the Library group. <br />All funds raised by this group go back to the Library. After <br />the 2012 audit, however, the Auditor now feels the City <br />owns the discarded materials and must sell them itself. This <br />puts a burden on both City staff and Library staff. <br />The following motion will resolve that issue and allow <br />Friends of the Library to continue operating the book sale. <br />Council Action Requested: Council motion stating that <br />the City Council authorizes the Pequot Lakes Community <br />Library to donate all discarded materials to Friends of the <br />Pequot Lakes Community Library. <br />
