SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY DECEMBER 14, 2010 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Malecha, Nagel, Sjoblad, <br /> and Ryan <br /> Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Tim Houle and Mike Rude, City <br /> Engineers <br /> Mayor Adams called the meeting to order and led with the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> Mayor Adams stated that the purpose of this special meeting is to consider a <br /> resolution authorizing municipal consent of the final layout of the Highway <br /> 371 alternate route submitted by MnDOT. Mayor Adams noted that all <br /> Council Members had received the written and oral comments that were <br /> given at the Public Hearing held on November 16, 2010. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 10-37 <br /> FOR MUNICIPAL CONSENT OF THE LAYOUT OF HIGHWAY 371 AS <br /> SUBMITTED BY MNDOT. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Cathy Malecha read a written statement explaining why she was in favor of <br /> the alternate route. She ended by stating that she felt it was her obligation to <br /> support the alternate route. <br /> Council Member Ryan read a written statement explaining why he was <br /> opposed to the alternate route. He ended by stating that he feels this is the <br /> wrong decision for the City and asked his fellow council members to oppose <br /> the motion. <br /> Council Member Nagel had no comment. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad had no comment. <br /> Mayor Adams stated she concurred with Council Member Malecha's <br /> comments. <br />
