AGENDA ITEM #6.4
City of
quotlTl
Lakes
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Traci Pederson
Date: February 5, 2024
Subject: Industrial Property — Dotty Brothers Construction, Inc.
Report: Dotty Brothers Construction, Inc. had a signed/notarized agreement
(Quit Claim Deed) with the City of Pequot as of 10/1/2019 in which
they were to have the property purchased (Industrial Park Lot 1, Block
2) set for its intended use by December 31, 2020.
Dotty Brothers Construction provided a letter to the City on
September 2, 2020, asking for a 1-year extension to complete
condition #3 on the Warranty Deed (included in this packet) — stating
construction would start first thing in the spring of 2021. This request
was due to the COVID Pandemic. At the Council meeting October 6,
2020, their 1-year extension was granted with the completion of #3 on
the Warranty Deed to be completed by November 2, 2021.
This topic was brought back up at the Council meeting October 5,
2021 on seeing that there hadn't been any work done. Mr. Dotty was
at that meeting and asked for another extension until 2022. The
Council moved to allow the extension noting that construction was to
be completed by the end of 2022.
Now in 2024, there's still no progress made.
Council Action Requested:
Council discussion.
