PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2015 CITY HALL Members Present: Chair Malecha, Commissioners Bruch, Caouette, and Ronning Members Absent: Commissioner Nagel, Ettesvold and Nordby Also Present: Greg Karr, Council Member Liaison; Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; and Sandy Peine, City Clerk. 1. Call Meeting to Order Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. 2. Consider Agenda COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. COMMISSIONER CAOUETTE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 3. WSN Proposal for Design of Trailside Park Restrooms Commissioner Ronning reviewed the specifics of the restrooms that he and Chair Malecha viewed in Baxter. He noted that after viewing a larger restroom facility he and Chair Malecha would be recommending two toilet fixtures in the women's side and one toilet fixture and one urinal fixture in the men's side as they felt one stall per side would not be sufficient. The Park Commission discussed the restroom size and concurred that a one stall per side would not work especially when considering the future use of the facility. The Commission talked about the design of the facility and were in agreement that the style that was presented would work as it is easy to clean, made of good materials, and graffiti resistant. The Clerk provided an excel spreadsheet that provided possible funding options for the restroom. The Commission understood that the cost for the two per side facility is more than what was budgeted but felt it would be a mistake to build the two stall facility. COMMISSIONER RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE THE DESIGN OF THE BUILDING WITH TWO STALLS FOR WOMEN AND TWO STALLS FOR MEN AND TO APPROVE THE FUNDING SOURCES PROVIDED BY CITY STAFF. COMMISSIONER BRUCH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. COMMISSIONER BRUCH TO APPROVE THE PROPOSAL FOR DESIGN SERVICES FROM WSN FOR THE TRAILSIDE PARK SEASONAL RESTROOM FACILITY. COMMISSIONER CAOUETTE SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0.
