AGENDA ITEM #5.1 A-D <br /> City of <br /> Pe not <br /> Lakes <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha <br /> Date: December 2, 2014 <br /> Subject: Budget/Levy—Public Hearing <br /> Report: The purpose of the Public Hearing is to discuss and seek public <br /> comment on the City's proposed budgets and proposed property tax levies for <br /> 2015. It is important to note that the full tax impact to property owners includes <br /> the general revenue tax levy of$1,491,445 plus the tax abatement levy of$22,648 <br /> which brings the total levy amount to $1,514,093. Also, the HRA levy is proposed <br /> at $38,250. <br /> A. Budget and Levy Presentation—Nancy Malecha will have an <br /> overhead presentation on the budgets and levies. <br /> B. Public Hearing on Budgets and Levies — The Council is required to <br /> allow citizens to speak on the proposed budgets and levies prior to the <br /> Council setting the final budgets and levies. <br /> C. Adoption of 2015 City Budgets — The Council must adopt the final tax <br /> levy budgets, the special revenue budgets, the enterprise budgets, and <br /> the HRA budget before December 30th. <br /> D. Consider Tax Levy Resolutions - The City must certify final property <br /> tax levies to the County Auditor by December 30th. <br />
