PARK COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> City of It <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes= <br /> Monday July 24th, 2023 <br /> 5:00 p.m. <br /> City Hall <br /> 1. Call the Meeting to Order-Adams, Churack, Lind, Boucher, Spiczka in attendance <br /> a. Meeting Called to order by Adams at 5:02pm <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> a. Motion by Boucher, Second by Lind to approve agenda as presented. Motion <br /> carried 4-0 <br /> 3. Approval of June Park Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> a. Motion by Lind, Seconded by Churack to approve minutes as presented. Motion <br /> carried 4-0 <br /> 4. MN Land Trust Visit Update <br /> a. Churack spoke on zones in the forestry plan and how to maintain the park but <br /> preserve natural affect. Note made that bats use birch in the summer to be <br /> mindful of that. Churack and Simar walked the trail and determined timber <br /> harvest not feasible,but possibly find someone to harvest some dangerous dead <br /> trees for firewood and potential due a planting campaign in the park. Churack <br /> observed an Eastern Hognose Snake in the park. <br /> 5. Park Summary Reports <br /> a. Dog Park- Looks good,plan to phase regrowth of grass in three phases. <br /> b. Sibley Park-needs water,but no tenable solution to that problem currently <br /> c. Paul Park is good <br /> d. Gildner Park is good <br /> e. Trailside Park looks great-two dead choke cherry trees were cut down <br /> 6. Bands in the Park Update <br /> a. Mark Peterson band was good-research needed into song selection <br /> b. Audience was light for Norm's Bait and Tackle but they were well received. <br /> c. So far all have been pretty good-mention to get list from Our Saviors <br />
