AGENDA ITEM #9.1.B <br /> c=� �f <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes— -- <br /> REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Tim Houle <br /> Date: June 2, 2020 <br /> Subject: Rasmussen Road & South Washington Avenue Improvement Project <br /> — Change Order <br /> Report: The following is the current Change Order for the Rasmussen Road & <br /> South Washington Avenue Improvement Project. <br /> Change Order No. 4 — From Woodman Street on the south to Oriole Street on the <br /> north (generally, the non-residential portion of the project), the sidewalk, when it <br /> was not right behind the curb (e.g. adjacent to diagonal parking areas), was set <br /> back from the curb and gutter (C&G) roughly 6 feet. The space between the curb <br /> and gutter and the sidewalk is called the boulevard. This boulevard provides space <br /> for signs, fire hydrants, etc. along with snow storage in the winter. <br /> With some areas having adjacent parking, grass was ruled out early due to the <br /> challenges involved in watering it, mowing it, and maintaining it (adjacent <br /> property/business owners taking care of this). <br /> From the concept study stage through the design stage, including Open Houses, we <br /> reviewed different materials to use in this boulevard. The original Bidding <br /> Documents / Construction Contract called for concrete pavers in this boulevard <br /> space. <br /> During the early stages of construction, though, the question was brought up about <br /> using colored concrete or stamped colored concrete in lieu of pavers. Periodically, <br /> pavers would have to be replaced. <br /> The Contractor provided pricing for the colored concrete and for the stamped <br /> colored concrete. The stamped colored concrete was definitely more expensive <br />
