AGENDA ITEM #9.1
city of
Pequot
Lakes— --
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Deb Marty
Date: August 7, 2018
Subiect: Utility Bill Discussion
Report: Jeff Traxler, 31394 Paul Circle, Pequot Lakes, requested to address
the Council regarding a high usage utility bill that he received in December for
water usage from October 24th to November 20th. The meter reading taken on
November 20th indicated water usage of 40,900 gallons. A service order was
created to research the high usage on November 21 St. Jake Freeman from the Pine
River Area Sanitary District (PRASD) met with Mr. Trler to review the steps of
testing the meter and verified it was working properly. A second service order was
created on December 27th after receiving a phone call from Mr. Traxler. Andy
Schwartz from the PRASD met with Mr. Traxler and tested the meter to verify it
was again working properly. Mr. Schwartz indicated a sink, toilet, hose, etc. may
have been running unnoticed during this time frame since usage was normal before
and after the high usage for one month.
Council Action Requested: Council discussion and possible direction to Staff
regarding Mr. Trler's high water usage.
