SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2017 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Akerson, Loukota, <br /> Pederson, and Swanson <br /> Staff Present: Nancy Malecha, City Administrator/Clerk; Mike Loven, Public <br /> Works Supervisor; and Tim Houle, City Engineer <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Adams called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council <br /> to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> The agenda was approved as presented. <br /> 3. Work Session to Review Street Improvements <br /> Mayor Adams noted that the goal of this meeting is to find out what the <br /> City would like to see in the street quadrant consisting of Old Highway <br /> 371, South Washington Avenue, Government Drive, East Woodman <br /> Street, and East Butler Street and provide information to Staff to <br /> determine bonding options. <br /> Mike Loven informed the Council on the water and sewer lines currently in <br /> this quadrant as well as storm sewer issues. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding improvements to this street quadrant <br /> consisting of sidewalks, trails, curbing, gutters, storm sewer catch basins, <br /> water and sewer infrastructure upgrades, potential roundabouts, <br /> pedestrian crossings, and traffic flow. <br /> The consensus of the Council agreed to move forward with the following <br /> potential improvements to the street quadrant consisting of Old Highway <br /> 371, South Washington Avenue, Government Drive, East Woodman <br /> Street, and East Butler Street and directed the City Engineer to determine <br /> estimated costs of these improvements that the City can utilize for bonding <br /> purposes. <br />
