CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES
MONTHLY WATER/WASTEWATER REPORT
Date: September 29, 2006
Prepared by: Tina Nolden (Water/WW Operator)
WATERPLANT: All is working well. Heather Silseth w/AE2S
will be upgrading the way our new computer calculates daily
flows. She plans to come up sometime next week.
WATER DISTRUBITION: As of September 29th, I have located
82 curbstops. (water shut-off valves) These have been re-mapped
and entered into our GPS. This will make locating curbstops much
easier and will save a lot of time. A few curbstops will need to be
repaired, I'm looking into that. I've also been calling around to see
how we compare with other city's water rates. We've had many
complaints about high water bills and I want to be sure we're not
charging more than is necessary.
WASTEWATER: Spray irrigation is complete. Kurt and I drained
all water from the irrigators. I will clean the pond aerators next
week.
On Sept. 22°d, while checking manholes, I noticed MH#30
was backed-up. I jetted the line from MH#29-30 and while filling
the jetter with water, Sandy called to inform me that TDS was
backing up. Mike and Kurt helped me locate the MH's that were
backed up (MH #77 & 87) and then helped me jet the line from
MH#37-78, which is where the blockage was that caused the other
ME's to back up. This line is located west of the Cole Bldg. It was
blocked in three areas, but we were able to clear the line and get
everything flowing again. Infratech will be up next week to clean it
more thoroughly.
Electric Pump Co. installed the Omni-Site Alarm System to
our Main Lift Station on Sept. 28th. This will call us when anything
goes wrong. (Power Outage, Pump Failures, High Levels, etc.)
