SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 21, 2011 <br />PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br />Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Akerson, Sjoblad, Malecha, <br />and Ryan <br />Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk <br />Call Meeting to Order <br />Mayor Adams called the meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to <br />order at 6:30 p.m. <br />1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br />Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />2. Consider Agenda <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />3.1. Police Chief <br />The City Clerk explained that the Council has received the background <br />investigation, psychological, and physical test results. She indicated that <br />Eric Klang has informed her that he would be available to begin <br />employment with the City on July 18tH <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO HIRE ERIC KLANG <br />EFFECTIVE 7/18/2011 WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS: <br />• THE POSITION WILL BE AN EXEMPT STATUS <br />• SALARY WILL BE AT STEP 9 OF THE PAY SCALE ($60,746) <br />• THERE WILL BE A SIX -MONTH PROBATION PERIOD ENDING <br />JANUARY 18, 2012 <br />• AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE SIX -MONTH <br />PROBATION PERIOD, ERIC KLANG WILL MOVE TO STEP 10 OF <br />THE PAY SCALE ($62,264) <br />• ERIC KLANG WILL BEGIN WITH THREE WEEKS VACATION ON <br />THE BOOKS AND PROCEED TO ACCUMULATE VACATION <br />
