CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 RESOLUTION <br /> WHEREAS, the United States of America suffered a sudden and brutal terrorist <br /> attack on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, and; <br /> WHEREAS, thousand of citizens from the United States and 61 other countries <br /> were killed or injured as a result of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center <br /> in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and the four hijacked airplanes, <br /> and; <br /> WHEREAS, countless numbers of grieving survivors, including children, spouses <br /> and partners, parents an family members, neighbors and friends, will be forever <br /> changed by this act of violence, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Americans and citizens of the world have watched with shock, <br /> sadness, and pride the heroic relief efforts and the dedication and commitment of <br /> the many firefighters, police officers, and emergency personnel who have worked <br /> around the clock in New York, the Washington area, and Pennsylvania since the <br /> tragedy, <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pequot Lakes City Council <br /> expresses profound sympathy and support for all the individuals affected by the <br /> September 11 tragedy, and sincerely thanks the many public employees and <br /> volunteers assisting in the recovery effort, and; <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Pequot Lakes City Council encourages <br /> our citizens to take action by donating to any charity of their choice that is <br /> offering aid to the survivors of this assault on America. <br /> Dated this 4th day of December, 2001. <br /> ,\(d'41 . <br /> `Forbes H.
