RESOLUTION #03126 <br /> A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC LIBRARY <br /> Council member J. Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br /> adoption: <br /> BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes, <br /> Minnesota as follows: <br /> The governing body of any city or county may establish and maintain public <br /> library service for the use of its inhabitants. By ordinance or resolution it may set <br /> apart for the benefit thereof any public property of the city or county. In any <br /> statutory city and in any city of the second, third, or fourth class, and in any <br /> county, the governing body may levy an annual tax on all taxable property therein <br /> except counties may not tax property which is already taxed for public library <br /> service. The proceeds of the tax shall be known as the library fund. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br /> Council member D. Sjoblad and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following <br /> voted in favor thereof: <br /> Council members J. Johnson, T. Ryan, J. Bolz-Andolshek, J. Akerson, M. <br /> Pfeiffer, and D.
