CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> RESOLUTION 06-36 <br /> A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL ZONE <br /> WHEREAS, traffic on South Oak Street adjacent to school property has <br /> increased; and <br /> WHEREAS, this increased traffic has an effect on the safety of the students; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pequot Lakes has determined that a school zone shall <br /> be established on South Oak Street for the entire length of the school property; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City will post the speed limit of 20 miles per hour in the school <br /> zone; and <br /> WHEREAS, the school zone speed limit of 20 miles per hour shall be in effect <br /> when children are present, going to or leaving school during opening or closing <br /> hours or during school recess periods, and during school activities. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pequot Lakes City Council <br /> establish a school zone per Minnesota Statute 169.14, Subdivision 5a, along <br /> South Oak Street abutting the school property. <br /> Passed and adopted by the Pequot Lakes City Council this 8th day of November, <br /> 2006. <br /> ( � `,4%h <br /> Cathy Malecha <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Sandra Peine <br /> City Clerk <br />
