PEQUO - LAKES PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PUBL C HEARING - LAND USE CLASSIFCATIONS SECTIONS 8 . 20 & 14 . 45 DECEMBER 19 , 1995 The Publice Hearing on the reclassification of Land Use in Pequot Lakes was called to orde - by Chairman David Oien at 6 : 30 P.M. at the Pequot Lakes C ty Council Chambers . Others present included Carol Robideau , Laura Hofus , Greg Welu, Mark Jurchen, and Terri Russell It was clarified that the hearing concerns reclassifoation of various land uses with in the different land use Tones and not a rezoning of the property within the city . Questions were raised by David Johnson, of Pequot Lat"s Auto Parts as to how it would affect expansion of his stc -e. Bonnie Watt voiced her concern about the reclassific. tion and how it would affect her recent purchase and plans . The commission explained that 3onnie would be allowed t build if the permit is in as existing classifications G low the use. Nancy Gootz voiced concern over devalLation of property due to the reclassification. Chairman Oien assured that it was not the Commission's intention to do so. In response to concerns by David Johnson in the future use of his property, recommendations were made to add to 8. 20 a classification of "Automotive Parts - Retail and Wholesale" and permittinca its use in Exempt Commercial , Commercial , and Limited Commercial . A motion was made by Laura Hofus and seconded by Mark Jurchen to "Move that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend approval of the Reclassification of Land Uses in Zoning Ordinance 8. 20 and 14.45 with the addition of "Automotive Parts- Retail and Wholesale, permitted in Commercial , Exempt Commercial , and Limited Commercial and to d lete Parts from Automotive & Truck sales, parts and repairs.
