PEOUOT LAKES <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> MAY 15,2001 <br /> Taren Saccoman called the regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Planning and Zoning Commission to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Pequot Lakes City Hall. <br /> Present were: Jerry Thompson, Taren Saccoman, Tommy Woog and Carrie Walsh. Absent was Tony Maurer. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: Zoning Change for Bob Beck. Bob's original plans have changed. He is now looking to <br /> construct a 4-plex consisting of one building. Units would have a full basement. Tommy Woog requested a site <br /> plan be brought to the June P&Z meeting. The plan was tabled for a month until the June meeting when the site <br /> plan can be looked at. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: Conditional use permit was granted to John Barthel to operate a Health Food <br /> Distributorship with both wholesaling and retailing,with the condition that the sign he puts up is no larger than <br /> 3' x 3'(9 square feet total). Motion by Jerry Thompson and seconded by Tommy Woog. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: Conditional use permit was granted for Dana&Kimberly Firkus to operate a Second <br /> �-- Hand Store. The store would be open 9 months per year. A 30 x 40 building will be constructed that will <br /> match the existing buildings. The entrance would face the Car wash. There will be a sign on top of the hill. <br /> No merchandise will be left outside. Permit will be granted with the condition that a member of the Planning& <br /> Zoning Commission will make an Annual Review of the property. Motion by Tommy Woog and seconded by <br /> Carrie Walsh. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: Conditional use permit was granted to Mike&Peggy Spielman to operate an Automobile, <br /> Truck,Bus and car repair facility on Lot 2,Block 4 of the Pequot Lakes Industrial Park. Mr. Spielman asked to <br /> have the right of first refusal on Lot 7. Motion by Jerry Thompson and seconded by Tommy Woog. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> The above Conditional Use Permits granted will be presented to the City Council on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at <br /> the regular scheduled City Council meeting. <br /> Motion to approve last months minutes. Motion made by Tommy Woog and seconded by Jerry Thompson. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Reminders should go out to all Industrial Park property owners reminding them of their landscaping obligations. <br /> Suggestion made by Taren Saccoman to let both Chris Greer and the Arbormeister know that tree's will be <br /> needed for the lots. <br /> An ordinance amendment needs to be written to address signs in residential neighborhoods. <br /> Pz51501 <br />
