Motion carried.
Presentation by Adeel Ahmud:
Mr. Ahmud was not present; Sheila Haverkamp,BLADC,presented the Trade Area
Analysis Proposal prepared by Mr. Ahmed. The customized report and basic report,
including a workshop, would cost approximately $2,000.00. Brainerd's report was
presented as an example.
Mr. Ahmud also included a plan to provide a profile of health care options. A survey or
questionnaire approach might be the best way to obtain data.
E Commerce could be utilized to promote existing businesses. The E Commerce
suggestion could be taken to the Business Connect group with a small fee per person to
attend. Mayor Adams volunteered to bring this suggestion to the Business Connect
group.
Mr. Ahmud also suggested someone to deal with conflict resolution. This could be useful
with the Highway 371 issues.
There is no concrete direction, but there are resources out there for the City to utilize.
Chair Larsen pointed out that Sheila Holley prepared a real estate comparison report.
Mrs. Holley explained the report. Real estate data is collected by GLAR(Greater Lakes
Area Realtors). She is able to submit data in whatever format the group would like.
Pequot Lakes addresses could be outside our city limits. Mrs. Holley stated the real
estate market is seeing more activity in recent months. The foreclosure market is
skewing the data. Data can be pulled by real estate code which would exclude
listings/sales outside our city limits. Mrs. Holley will provide an update at our next
meeting
