RESOLUTION# <br /> LOCAL RESOLUTION TO AMEND JOBZ ZONE <br /> Sub-zone Resolution of Approval to Amend Designated Acreage <br /> WHEREAS job creation,and business development in Crow Wing County, Minnesota have been <br /> less than the state and state metropolitan averages; and, <br /> WHEREAS the resulting affects of such lagging job creation, and business development have <br /> harmed and are forecasted to continue to harm the economy of Crow Wing County and the <br /> surrounding area,and, <br /> WHEREAS the Job Opportunity Building Zone (JOBZ) Program created in Minnesota Session <br /> Laws 2003, 1st Special Session, Chapter 21,Article 1 allows for the formation of tax free zones; <br /> WHEREAS the City of Pequot Lakes, Crow Wing County, has designated JOBZ sites in the <br /> Region Five Development Commission JOBZ designation; <br /> WHEREAS the City of Crosslake, Crow Wing County, was not granted JOBZ zone status for <br /> their town and have since had an opportunity for job growth with a company; therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Pequot Lakes City Council, at the meeting held on the 2nd day of <br /> September, 2008,upon careful consideration and review, approves the shift of 10 JOBZ acres <br /> from the City of Pequot Lakes to the City of Crosslake as outlined on the attached diagrams, in <br /> the zone, effectively transferring acreage; <br /> Signed this 2nd day of September, 2008: <br /> Mayor: Cathy Malecha <br /> Attest: <br /> Clerk: Sandy Peine <br />
