Based on the article in the Echo newspaper the prior week,it was clear the Council votes would be four to one in favor of the bypass, and this became reality at the meeting. The Chamber is disappointed about the decision because of the concerns previously outlined in our letter to you,but we've made it clear to the Council that our volunteers and staff will continue to work on behalf of the economic vitality of the Pequot Lakes community. The past 18 months have created a division between some of our community with strong, vocal opinions supporting both routes. It's time for the community to engage in activities that move us forward—together. We've discussed the next priorities for the Advisory Committee to help unite the community and focus on the future and want to make sure we are listening to your concerns and ideas. Our committee meets on January 10th. We hope you take a few minutes to give us your thoughts and return the enclosed form in the envelope provided by January 15th.
