ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> JANUARY 15, 2008 <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Jurchen, Nancy Adams, Justin Bolz-Andolshek, <br /> Patrick Smith <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Sheila Haverkamp and Elissa Rogers of BLADC, Mayor Malecha, <br /> Zoning Administrator Dawn Bittner, and City Clerk Sandy Peine <br /> ABSENT: Ed Larsen <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Justin Bolz-Andolshek at 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider 12/11/07 EDC Minutes <br /> MARK JURCHEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 12/11/2007 MINUTES. <br /> NANCY ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 3. Final Approval of the Economic Development Committee Check List <br /> Dawn Bittner informed the Committee that the Planning Commission commended <br /> the Committee for putting the lists together and thanked them for the opportunity <br /> to review the lists. The Planning Commission suggested that the lists not be titled <br /> Economic Development Committee, but rather be titled City of Pequot Lakes. <br /> The Economic Development Committee concurred. <br /> The EDC suggested putting the check lists on the web site. <br /> 4. Review of Inventory Form <br /> The Committee reviewed the business inventory questions, the instructions, and <br /> the press release and recommended the following amendments: <br /> • Inventory- Find out if the building is vacant <br /> • Inventory - Square footage of business <br /> • Press Release—Delete information pertaining to home occupations <br /> Justin asked about the Police Department survey of businesses. It was suggested <br /> to compare the Police inventory with the EDC inventory to ensure both entities <br /> have all businesses listed. It was noted that the EDC inventory would contain <br /> more information than the Police inventory. <br />
