ADOPTION
OF
STATE BUILDING CODE
The City Council met in a Work Session Tuesday evening,
May 17 to discuss the possible adoption of the State Building
Code. Kevin Mealhouse, Regional Building Official for the State
Building Codes Division, was in attendance to answer questions
and explain the benefits of the Building Code and the process for
adoption. Re-institution of the Building Code is a short-term
action in the Comprehensive Plan
There seemed to be a general consensus to move forward
with the adoption, but the City Council would like a
recommendation from the Planning Commission.
Attached is the information provided by Mr. Mealhouse for
the City Council's review. Councilmen Nagel and Bolz-Andolsek
both attended the Work Session and are happy to answer any
questions you may have.
Action: Make recommendation to the City Council
on the adoption of the State Building Code.
