1. Direct the Planning Commission to restudy and revise the
Downtown plan. The existing plan was done several years ago
and it shows the highway going through town. This plan was not
formally approved by Council. The newly revised plan should
include street lights, public bathrooms, streetscapes, walking and
bike trails, parking lots and green space.
P UBLIC WORKS
1. Appoint a Committee to work on a street rehabilitation policy.
The Council suggested a committee of 2 Council members, a
Planning Commission member, City Planner, City Engineer, and
Public Works Supervisor. I would also recommend adding the
Zoning Administrator to the Committee.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
1. Direct the EDC to begin working on a marketing plan for the
City.
GO VERNMENT
1. Direct the Personnel Committee to continue to study the concept
of a City Administrator.
Council Action Requested: If the Council wants to move forward on
some of these objectives, a motion should be made giving clear
direction to the commissions or committees to work on these priorities.
