I hereby make the following recommendations for the water and sewer rate increases for
the year 2005.
The water rate would be as follows.
$14.50 for the first 2,000 gallons
$4.50 per thousand thereafter
The sewer rate would be as follows.
$13.50 for the first 2,000 gallons
$3.50 per thousand thereafter
The current rates for water and sewer are as follows.
Water: $14.00 for the first 2,000 gallons
$4.00 per thousand thereafter
Sewer: $13.00 for the first 2,000 gallons
$3.00 per thousand thereafter
This increase would only cover the current 2005 budget increases. This increase will not
assist in generating monies for the following future improvements.
20 years - water plant- $2,000,000
40 years - water infrastructure - $1,200,000
20 years—wastewater plant- $1,000,000
20 years—wastewater infrastructure - $1,500,000
The following total needs to be set aside yearly for future improvements. As we know,
this is not feasible. We need to look at percent vs. loans.
Proj ect Total Amt Years Annual Amt
Water plant $2,000,000 20 years $100,000
Water infrastructure $1,200,000 40 years $30,000
Wastewater plant $1,000,000 20 years $50,000
Wastewater infrastructure $1,500,000 20 years $75,000
TOTAL $255,000
Sincerely,
BRETT TWARDY
Water/Wastewater Superintendent ,
