Box 361 Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 Dear Sandy: Thank you for meeting with us on October 29 concerning the 10 feet of street access that has become a focus of attention in recent weeks because of the apparent interest shown by our neighbors Greg and Kathy Karr in buying that 10 ft of public street land. Our home is immediately south of the Karrs. The 10 ft lies between the Karrs and ourselves. As you know in letter sent by a previous city clerk it was stated that "the general public has the right to use this 10 ft. road for access to Sibley Lake from W. Lake St. unrestricted by the adjoining land owners (which would be ourselves and the Karrs)". This apparently settled the question of what to do about the access since it seemed to clearly make private ownership out of the question . Nevertheless the issue is visiting us again. As one of the concerned parties involved in this matter we want you to know that we wish that it remains as it always has and we do not support in any way the sale and privatization of that street/access. If, however, the city is determined to sale this property we wish to make an offering for the land or for half of it(five feet). This is because our property line ends at the north end of our house where it is immediately adjacent to the south side of the l Oft. of public street. Purchase of that 10 ft. by the Karrs could easily prevent our access to the north side of our home. The present public street allows us, if we need to, to have that access. We also have concern for our right of access because we understand that the Karrs wish to add on substantially to their present home and in our direction. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
